What to Expect During the Placement of Your Anterior Bridge
You will need two appointments to receive your anterior bridge. The first appointment is used to prepare the abutment teeth and take impressions. Preparing the teeth is a necessary process that involves the removal of a small amount of enamel from tooth, making them smaller. By removing tooth enamel, we ensure that the crowns will fit properly over the abutment teeth and that your anterior bridge will fit your mouth perfectly. To ensure your comfort during this process, you will be given a local anesthetic. The impression is taken immediately after the teeth are prepared.
We send your impression to our lab. There, technicians use it to bring your custom anterior bridge to life. Because it can take a couple of weeks for the restoration to be returned, we provide you with a temporary one. This temporary bridge is meant to help protect your prepared teeth as well as the health of your mouth. Your second appointment occurs once we receive your final restoration. We assess its fit and your bite and then bond it to the abutment teeth.
